Boosting Tourism : Dubai Beach Masterplan
Dubai has revealed its grand scheme to upscale the beach experience for tourists in the emirate. The latest plan, which forms a crucial part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, will involve the unveiling of new beaches and the revamping of existing ones with modern amenities.
The newly launched Master Plan showcases Dubai’s unwavering dedication to offering unparalleled beach experiences for visitors, aligning with the ultimate objective of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 to cement the emirate’s position amongst the top three tourism destinations.
Dubai’s beach master plan involves an array of initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life and ensuring visitor satisfaction.
The plan includes extending the public beaches in Dubai to over 100km, introducing eco-tourism on Jebel Ali Beach, constructing new cycling tracks, and providing beach camping and water sports facilities.
Additionally, new bus routes will be added, facilities for people of determination will be improved, and more dining and retail options will be made available.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has expressed Dubai’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of excellence in urban development, with a priority on promoting the welfare of citizens, residents, and visitors alike.
According to him, the Master Plan for Public Beaches in Dubai is set to make a significant difference in the upcoming years. It is predicted that by 2040, there will be a 400% increase in the length of public beaches, from 21 km to 105 km. Additionally, the services offered on these beaches will also increase by 300% by 2025.
It’s worth noting that Dubai has been actively developing since 1960 and is committed to providing excellent living standards for everyone, be it individuals or families. Development is an ongoing process in Dubai, and it will undoubtedly continue in the future.
Dubai boasts a collection of globally acclaimed beaches, which offer a range of amenities including swimming areas, sandy stretches, and running tracks. These public beaches, situated in:
- Khor Al Mamzar
- Al Mamzar Corniche
- Jumeirah 1
- Jumeirah 2
- Jumeirah 3
- Umm Suqeim 1
- Umm Suqeim 2, and Jebel Ali Public Beach.
All these beaches have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag certification for five years in a row.
This recognition is a testament to their adherence to international standards for seawater quality, environmental education, environmental management, public safety, and services.
